Magic Lantern, in collaboration with CBBC and Studio Liddell, is honoured to have received an RTS Innovation Award for 2009 from the Royal Television Society. Presented at Bafta on November 10th, Magic Lantern received the 'On Target Award' for its original BBC Children's production, Bugbears.

Said the RTS on announcing their selection: "In choosing the winner the jury selected the development they said built on the loyalty that the mainstream industry can generate amongst its audiences. From that position of trust it (Magic Lantern and Studio Liddell) has created a new approach that allows its individual viewers to express themselves confidently, find encouragement and seek reassurance.
