Joe Elliot
Joe Elliot is the Director of Learning and Children’s Media at Magic Lantern. He is an experienced innovator and strategic consultant in children’s media and game-based learning who has created many major interactive products and services for children and young people.
At Dorling Kindersley, he created the award-winning, multi-million selling I Love Maths/Spelling/Science series. In 2000 he set up the interactive learning media company, SeeThinkDo, providing strategic and creative consultancy for the BBC, Comic Relief, Futurelab, Guardian Learnthings, LEGO, Pearson, Premium TV and Sky. He co-created the first learning-based MMO (Footee), developed next-generation robot play systems, made artificial life and piloted a new learning channel.
Since joining Magic Lantern in 2005 he has originated a host of interactive projects, including two groundbreaking feature-length drama/learning worlds for the BBC. He has worked with BBC Worldwide, the Byron Review, Comic Relief, DCFS, Entertainment Rights, Hodder, Showcomotion, Walker Books – and many major children’s brands.
Joe is currently creating CBeebies’ first truly multiplatform show, a handful of cutting edge online products for kids and at least one virtual world.
