The George Foster Peabody Awards recognize distinguished achievement and meritorious service by radio and television networks, stations, producing organizations, cable television organizations and individuals. This year 30 have been awarded out of the 1000 plus entrants. It is a great privilege to be recognized by Peabody. Anthony will speak at the Media Guardian Changing Media Summit this year, on 22nd March. Addressing the question ‘Will IPTV Change TV Forever?’ this discussions will examine issues such as how consumer choice drives viewing, the commercial opportunities in the converged home and the impact of live, on-demand TV over broadband.

Magic Lantern has enlisted the skills of operational expert Matt Atwood, the newly appointed Head of Operations. Matt has an impressive project management background in theatre, his most recent post was with the Barbican Theatre. An engineer by trade and an extremely nice bloke, Matt is the ‘get stuff done’ guru and we are thrilled that he has joined the team.
Magic lantern extends the world of the BBC’s new political satire Party Animals online with a site centred around the forum ‘Village Vermin’. The site is featured in the TV show and is part political blog, part popbitch for the Westminster Village. Characters featured in the show deepen and develop scandal and rumours on the site which also features exclusive footage and photos.
Magic Lantern CEO, Anthony Lilley spoke to a packed house this evening at the Royal Television Society's dinner. Following on from today's launch of Ofcom's Open Media Network (OMNi) discussion site, Anthony shared his thoughts on the future of public service media and the role that a public service publisher such as OMNi may play in the changing media landscape.

Magic Lantern is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Ayers to the newly created role of Editorial Development Director. Richard will be responsible for overseeing all Magic Lantern projects from an editorial and business perspective. He will maintain the digital creativity and innovation that Magic Lantern is known for, and enable clients and partners to realise the commercial opportunities through different platforms. Richard comes to Magic Lantern from commercial online business Tiscali where he held the position of Portal Director and was responsible for the editorial direction, business development, design and technical operations.

Professor Lilleys lectures series will be entitled Twenty questions for the future of media and will look forward to the year 2020 and consider the challenges facing the traditional media as digital networks overturn the status quo.

We're delighted to announce that our CEO, Anthony, has been awarded an OBE for services to the media and creative industries in the Queen's 2008 Birthday Honours List. Anthony wants to thank everyone he works with for putting up with his enthusiasms over the years. Various people have suggested that he has to be serious now, but so far this advice seems to be going unregarded.
